Fran Smith is home now following hospitalization with breathing problems. She has emphysema. Additionally, Fran has shingles. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Dan Adkins is in the Dove nursing home for rehab. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory and Betty will see that he gets them.
Bob Ashley fell off a ladder and broke his arm and fractured a small bone in his leg. He will have surgery today (5/1/06). Cards may be sent to him at the northern address in the directory.
Jack and Rita Ashleys daughter, Sister Marie Catherine, will have surgery tomorrow (5/2/06) in Pittsburgh, PA. Cards may be sent in care of Jack and Rita at the local address in the directory.
Jo Dowler had colon surgery and is doing fine. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Bill Conway is back in Lake Wales Hospital with complications of congestive heart failure. He is in room 310. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Lloyd Akiens had an accident with his motorcycle in St. Cloud. He has a broken collarbone and a chipped anklebone. He is home, but the doctor does not want him alone. We are looking for volunteers to spend a little time with Lloyd until this evening when his daughter will arrive. Linda plans to fly home tomorrow.
Jeanette and Daniel Montross are recuperating from bronchitis. Jeanette also has a kidney infection and is on antibiotics. We have not eard the results yet of the CAT scan Jeanette was to have.
Jeff Katenkamp, Jack and Janes son, remains in the hospital in Cincinnati battling multiple melanoma. He is at a critical point. The doctors want to remove the breathing tube and also stop the pain medication that has kept him in a deep sleep for the last three weeks. The family is optimistic, but apprehensive. We received a very nice thank you note from Esther Knasel for the thoughts, prayers and cards she received when she broke her leg. The cast is off now and Esther is doing fine.

Water level this morning is 103 feet 5 inchesdeep. Last month the lake went down 5 inches.

EMERGENCY: Sewer restrictions are now in place. Our sewer situation is critical. NO dishwashing, NO clothes washing.
If you are in residence, you need to call the office and make an appointment to get your Bar Codes installed for entrance to SLR.
New SLR Directories are now available from Dot Lynch. Cost is $1.00 per copy.
The contract has been signed for the sewer work to be done. The office will resubmit our application with SBA for a low interest loan. Work could start in 4-6 weeks.
The library is now open on Monday Only from 10-12 PM.
