Managers' Report:Koffee klatch update 05-06-2013
I first want to remind everyone you have a Board meeting on Wednesday, May 8th. That is this Wednesday. The agenda was posted on the property and on the CHUG website last Friday. Most of the Board members not on site will be attending via tele-conference. The Attorneys for SLOA will be in attendance to address questions arising from the revitalization of the SLOA Covenants. Please attend if you have questions.
From Ken Lewis..your Board President:
PRESIDENTS COMMENTS 5-6-2013
COMMENTS RELATIVE TO BOARD MEETING ON MAY 8, 2013. ALL RESIDENTS WITH CONCERNS REGARDING THE STATUS OF OUR COVENANTS AND THE REVITALIZATION OF THE SAME, SHOULD ATTEND THIS BOARD MEETING ON WEDNESDAY. OUR ATTORNEYS FROM THE LAW FIRM OF BROWN, GARGANESE, WEISS & D'AGRESTA WILL ATTEND AND WILL ADDRESS THOSE CONCERNS. THERE HAS BEEN MUCH “MISS" INFORMATION CIRCULATED WITHIN SADDLEBAG LAKE RESORT THAT HAS BEEN MISLEADING AT BEST AND INCORRECT AT WORST.
EXCERTS FROM THIS PRESENTATION AND QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THOSE RESIDENTS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO BEING OUT OF THE AREA. BOARD MINUTES WILL CONTAIN AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE AND SEPARATE NOTES WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE. IT MAY BE SEVERAL DAYS FOR THIS INFORMATION TO BE MADE AVAILABLE SO I URGE THOSE WITH CONCERNS OR QUESTION TO ATTEND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
Please refrain from discarding lawn waste in the large recycle bins in the rear of the resort. We have you on tape.
The drywall portion of the annex is moving right along.
The temp. annex was removed last week.
The re-webbed pool chairs were delivered back last week
The pool re-opened on Thursday after maintenance and painting. It looks great! Thanks so much to the maintenance department for their diligent work in getting the job done efficiently and in a timely manner, as usual.
At the request of the CERT committee, The Florida Forest Service was in about a month ago to survey the resort and to provide their assessment of the community's fire hazard rating. They were in last week to go over the assessment with Ken Hall, and also the importance of the State program concerning the prevention of wildfires.
They informed Ken Hall and I that SLOA is the cleanest community they have ever seen in the 7 years they have been doing fire hazard assessments, and that SLOA also scored the lowest on their scale (a 44). Anything below a 50 is considered a very low fire hazard. The gentleman who do the assessments will also be scheduled for a koffee klatch in the fall to address the owners about how to prepare their lots for wildfire season. SLOA will also be listed with the State as a “firewise community". I want to thank Ken Hall and CERT for initiating the survey and participation in the program. I'd also like to thank the maintenance department and the contractors SLOA employs to ensure the property is clean and free of hazardous foliage and debris.
That's about it. Any questions?
Thank you and have a great week!
