Hugh Settles, husband of Helen Settles, died last Monday. They were former residents who moved to Georgia.

Mary Johnston has successful surgery last week. There was a concern that she had a tumor on her kidney. It turned out to be a cyst and Mary is doing well. Cards may be sent to the Canadian address in the directory. (Postage is 63 cents)
Sam Bealer is doing well following surgery on his legs. He may come home Tuesday or Wednesday. Cards may be sent to him at the local address in the directory.
Sam Sturms will have surgery next Monday. More details will follow.
Joe Broich will be going into a nursing home soon. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.

Don and Jerrolyn Self want to thank the many who sent cards to Don while he was recuperating from back surgery. He is coming along fine and even played a round of golf on Tuesday.

The water level this morning is 100' 5 1/2", which is 3" more than yesterday. We had a storm come through, which dumped on us, but we really needed the rain as you are probably all aware of.
There will be no Garden Club tomorrow, as there is a meeting in Bartow on the proposed reclassification of land around Saddlebag Resort. This is not to be confused with the Berry Corp. as that is a different company.
Effective May 12 the Post Office will be changing our PO hours to 9:30-10:30AM for the Summer.
Mothers' Day Dinner -- Hosted by the Summer Committee and Bob& Val Parr. Social Hour 4PM with Dinner served at 5PM. Please bring your table service and Silverware.
