Day Trips and Overnight Trips
I have re-connected with Cynthia Hartline of C&D Tours to book some day trips and overnight trips for the 2011-2012 season. Many people inquired last year, wanting to do some so I will post the trips that are planned as of right now. If you have any suggestions/requests, please email or call me and I will do my best to set it up with Cynthia. In order for a bus to pick us up here at Saddlebag, we need a minimum of 20 people (that's if it's a combined trip with another park). If it's just a SLR trip, the minimum to make it a “go" is 45 (but also depending on the bus size.) Cynthia is strictly using Small World Tours' buses for transportation. Her prices are a few dollars within the prices The Senior Circle is charging.
Here a few already planned: June 4th: “Mommies" $60.00(call me ASAP if you are interested in this one!), July 27th: Daytona Kennel Club $47.00, August 10th: Show Palace “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" $76.00, Nov. 26th: Show Palace Christmas $75.00, Nov. 29th: Ellenton Outlet mall $31.00, Dec.9th: Mt. Dora $44.00. Jan. 29th: Biloxi- Feb. 1st, staying at Imperial Palace $249.00 ppdo. Call me for the details on these trips or any others. Thanks everyone! I'd like to help make this a fun year for you!

Managers' Report: Hello Residents,
Things are moving along quickly as summer for SLR pushes forward. The pump house renovation is complete. The vinyl siding, soffits, gutters and downspouts, new concrete floor, and interior paint job is complete. It now serves as a clean, roomy storage facility for the pool/spa. A large clock has been approved by the Board and ordered for display on the pump house wall facing the pool. It is a bronze sunburst style housing with a roman numeral face, a temperature gauge, and a humidity gauge. It should look quite nice! The Garden Club donated the funds to pay for it. Thank you to the Garden Club!! The interior of the spa will be complete next week. The major portion of the spa enclosure is done, with some issues still to be addressed by the contractor. The vac pac fence has been installed, and the pool fence installation is 75% complete. The screen room has been gutted, issues underlying addressed, the cement block walls have been laid, additional emergency exit signs and emergency lights installed per County mandates and the new windows and doors are being installed next. The storage garage is complete and we just passed the final inspection. SLOA now has a beautiful new storage facility for maintenance, SLR club storage, and Board/SLOA document storage. The drainage project is complete. New drain pipes were laid where needed, drains cleaned, and culverts installed, as well as a drain field excavated for proper dispersion of storm water on Silversides. Innovative Water Solutions did a marvelous job for the Association. We are currently receiving bids for the lateral replacement project, and will move forward when a contractor is chosen. The bi-monthly meter reading has just been completed for the April/May period. The information will be forwarded to David Farabee for completion of the SWFWMD Annual Report and the Water Audit. The Material Data Safety Sheet manuals (2 volumes, both 3 inches thick) have been completed and distributed to the employees. This is part of OSHA compliance for safety in the workplace. The collective efforts of the maintenance department and Shane Wingate are much appreciated in compiling the information and completing the books. Thank you all very much! The employees are also now on a bi-monthly safety training meeting schedule, as well as a bi-monthly on-line training program. The new cabinet has been delivered for the sound equipment, and the Sound Committee members remaining on site have completed the installation of the upgraded equipment, tested the system and determined that all upgrades are operational and working according to plan. Thank you to the Sound Committee for all of their efforts on the project. I am also forwarding photos of the progress to the web manager for posting. I hope that will help you all visualize the improvements in the resort. Please stay safe in the continually turbulent and problematic weather and enjoy your Memorial Day weekend in our observance of our fallen soldiers. Melanie Kremkau (Manager) for SLOA
