Coffee & Donuts: Barb Marksbury and Jaye Wright
Master of Ceremonies: Bob Parr
Sickness & Distress:
Jack Southen is still receiving chemo treatments in the hospital. He has two hours of intravenous chemo and then a bottle of a different chemo is connected to a port. This should last about 46 hours. There is a pump that works with body heat. Jack is always hot, so it only lasted 40 hours. This should stay in his body for about four months. A nurse comes in to detach the line to the port a ready it for the next bottle. At this time he has a blood clot in an arm vein and another one near the aorta. He is being given blood thinners to dissolve the clots. His "end zone" is not healed yet, and he also has bladder problems. However, despite all of this, Jack remains cheerful and active. Cards may be sent to the Canadian address in the directory. (Postage is $ .63)
Joyce Zampieri went to the ER in Portland, Maine thinking she had a blood clot in her leg. Fortunately, she did not but does have a Baker's Cyst on her leg that will have to be removed this summer. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory .
Dennie Pahl wants to thank so may Saddlebaggers for the condolences she received upon the death of her father from cancer. She asks for prayers for her brother Terry who is suffering from cancer and is receiving chemo and radiation treatments, and her cousin who is also in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment.
Bill Purdy has been diagnosed with colon cancer. He was to have surgery last Tuesday. I do not have an address or phone number for him. If anyone who can help me out here, 1'd appreciate it.
Dan Adkins is back home in Ohio and in a nursing facility there. Betty and Dan want to thank all the Saddlebaggers for the many cards and prayers. The trip to Ohio went very smoothly. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Please remember our Saddlebag friends with prayers, cards and phone calls.

We would like you to include in your KK Newsletter a reminder, & an
invitation to all the folks who would like to come to the SLR Picnic in
Parkhill ON on June 15 at the Lions Den. It is pot luck so bring a
generous dish or two to pass. We eat at 12:30 PM , & the paper plates ,
plastic utensils , & cups will be provided , as well as coffee , tea , &
cold drinks. Plan on staying for an afternoon of visiting each other , or
playing cards, dominoes or whatever you bring , & then eating our
leftovers for supper. Its a long drive for some of us & we want to chat
with you. It is always the third Thursday of June so please note the
first of June is on a Thursday ,so why the picnic seems earlier than
usual. Unfortunately it wasn't in the Saddlebag Express, so if you can
let your friends know who doesn't have e-mail , that would be really
helpful. We would like to see a nice turn out as in the past years. ATTENTION : Sorry , I made a mistake. The building where the Canadian SLR picnic is held is called "The Leisure Club" , & its on 176 Broadway St , Parkhill. Its the same place we always go.
