Hazel Miller passed away last week. Cards may be sent to the family at the local address in the directory as her daughter Joan is still picking up the mail.
Bessie Dair, Barbara Sherman's mother passed away Sunday at age 88. Bessie was also a former resident here. Cards may be sent to Barbara at the northern address in the directory.
LaVerne Junge hopes to come from the Grove Nursing Home this Thursday where she has been receiving physical therapy She had been hospitalized following a fall in her home. LaVerne is still in a wheel chair. Her family is coming in from Wisconsin this week to assess her home to see what needs to be done to make things OK for LaVerne when she comes home. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Elinor Roeschen is not well. She is having a problem with fluctuating blood pressure. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Marilyn Cogswell will go to Orlando Wednesday where her daughter will join her. Marilyn will have angioplasty done Thursday and hopefully come home shortly thereafter. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Virginia Staib will have sinus and throat surgery on June 17th , at Winter Haven Hospital.
Wayne Geisler had double knee surgery replacement in May. He is doing very well. Cards may be sent to him at the northern address in the directory.
We received a lovely note of thanks from Betty Brunty's sisters, Leola Considine, Sharon Fox, and Jane & Jack Ding
for all the cards, letters, flowers and food that was sent after the April 6th automobile accident. Also for all who attended Betty's memorial and the ladies who prepared and served coffee and refreshments, and Pastor Tom for his kind words.

The water level this morning is 97' 10 3/4" Everyone keep in mind that our water level should be about 102' above sea level. This water level is now 10 feet below the high water mark experienced during 2005. That is a lot of water.
Post Office: New Hours for the Summer: 9:30 to 10:30AM
Fathers' Day: Tickets can be obtained by Calling Sally Knapton at 696-3464. Last Day to get tickets is today. Cost is still $6.00. This dinner is done by the Summer Committee and Hosted by Bob and Lynn Mayhew. Sally also has 4th of July tickets on sale now.
Church Fruit Fest: June 11 at 6PM. Hosted by Bob & Lois Lapsley. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own table service. Also, bring your own drinks.
Grannies Attic is open on Mondays.
Joan Hartshorn, Street Coordinator, passed out printed material this morning to the street volunteers. Information that is needed in the event of a hurricane. The street volunteers will then pass this information on to the residents who are still here.
Ed Weirauch and some Cert members attended a meeting in Winter Haven this past week. They came back with some more information, which was available to the people in attendance.
Our Board of Directors are doing everything they can tocut expenses. You will hear more about this later, as they prepare a budget for us to vote on. It was brought to my attention this morning that they are shutting down the ice makers for most of the summer except when needed, to conserve on electricity. Just one of the little things that when lumped together with all the other things really add up.
