George A. Campbell, a SLR pioneer, formerly of 23 Beaverkill, passed away July 9, 2007. He was 93 years old.

Jeanne Bealer passed away last Monday, July 7, 2007. A Memorial service was held for Jeanne and Sam yesterday, Sunday, July 15, 2007 at their church.
Ewart Reynolds, former Royal Coachman resident, passed away last week.
Paul Garrison is home from the Grove Nursing Home today. He was so thrilled with the many cards he received, 32 in all.
Lois Detenbeck is home from Lake Wales Hospital and is still recuperating from difficulty breathing.
Myrtle Flynn of Woodruff Way is also home following a stay at the Grove Nursing Home and wishes to thank Saddlebaggers for the many cards she received. .
Velma Hoyle is also home from at the Grove where she received physical therapy following knee surgery. .

Jeanne O'Flynn had a tracheotomy last week. The tumor in her throat was too large, and part of it had to be removed to insert the trachea tube. It was discovered that the cancer has spread. Cards may be sent to both Tom and Jeanne at the local address in the directory.
Darrell Bierlein the CAT scan last week. The results were very encouraging as the chemo treatments are working. Two tumors have shrunk and a kidney stent was replaced. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Doris Wierenga was admitted to Lake Wales with severe breathing problems. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory. She may possibly come home today (Monday) Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Mid Wodrich has been admitted to a hospital in Ft.Lauderdale where she was visiting her daughter Debbie. It was determined that her doctor took her off prednisone too fast resulting in renal failure. She was immediately given a shot of prednisone, and by the following day Mid was feeling much better. Further tests proved that her vital organs were fine, but a spot was found on her lung. She will have a needle hospital she biopsy done on Tuesday. The course of action will be determined once the results of the biopsy come back. Carol Keach took Howard to ER at Lake Wales Hospital as he was having dizzy spells. He will have an MRI tomorrow. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Bob Lapsley wishes to thank the many Saddlebaggers for the cards he received following his hernia surgery.

The water level this morning is 99 feet 10 3/4 inches which is 1 1/2 inch, less than last week. We did get some badly needed rain last week. Everyone keep in mind that our water level should be about 102 feet above sea level, so it is imperative we keep getting some rain. Some people are having trouble getting into the lake from the lagoon because of the low water level. We have gone from one extreme to the other.
August 8th at 6PM. A salad smorgasbord will be held. This event is hosted by Art & Barbara Marksbury. Please bring your own dishes and invite your neighbors. This is a SLR Church function. A freewill offering will be taken.
Campbell labels are still being collected by Lorraine Kobierecki. She is at 5 Beaverkill.
The Summer Committee and Bob and Lynn Mayhew are hosting a dinner on August 5 at 5PM. Ham with Pineapple with a Hawaiian theme. Tickets can be obtained by calling Sally Knapton at 696-3464.
The Summer Michigan Reunion is being hosted by Ed & Helen Clark. It will be in Frankenmuth, MI on August 1stthrough the 4th. Those wishing to camp out, there is a campground on the Lutheran Church grounds. The Lutheran Church campground is at the end of Shlier Street. From Main Street (M83) West on Shlier to the end. Shlier has Mike Young GM Dealership on the South Corner & a Farm Equipment Dealer on the North Corner. 2 benches have been installed in front of the Post Office. Many thanks to the Summer Committee who purchased these.
The company that is doing our sewer fixes are still here and last week they were working on the trail. I don't know how much more they have to do, but we will be in better shape when they are done.
