Bob Johnson of 9 Stone Fly passed away last Wednesday. Cards may be sent to the family at the northern address in the directory.
Yvonne Sefcik passed away last week. Cards may be sent to the family at the northern address in the directory.
Don Self is scheduled to have serious back surgery. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Mary Ellen Meyer had a hip replacement last week. She is coming along OK. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Bill Conway is doing well at the Dove Nursing Home. He and Madeline enjoyed a game of cards last Thurday with Mickey and Russ Sauer. Visits are welcome as are cards. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory or to the Dove Nursing Home, room 107.
Jeanette Montross is doing quite well with the chemo treatments. She has had six treatments so far and will have six more before doing a CAT scan to see if the tumor is shrinking. She maypossibly have an additional four treatments if necessary. If the tumor is shrinking they well consult the surgeon about operating to remove her bladder. Jeanette is having some of the normal side effects of the chemo, like nausea and vomiting. So far she has not had any hair loss, but purchased a lovely wig in anticipation of hair loss. Jeanette is on the blood thinner Fragmin by injection for the blood clot in her leg. Her cancer doctor is very pleased wither blood work numbers and does not have to see him for another six weeks. We received a lovely thank you note from Mitzie Vermette for kindness shown by friends and neighbors following Mitzie's surgery and ongoing recovery. The family is especially grateful to Ruth and Homer Allem for the extra support when it was most needed.
Claire and Mickey Hreha with to thank everyone for the many cards, prayers and food following Claire's accident. They said “there is no one anywhere like Saddlebaggers, who are super."

Nathalie Maggard, Resort Manager, introduced our new head of Security, Tim Drawdy. The lift station at Blue Quill has been fixed, and thanks for all the cooperation from the area residents. Nathalie is still working on getting the loan we need to work on our sewer lines.
Ed Weirauch stated that the CERTS (Community Emergency Response Team) training will begin on July 10 at 6:30 PM in the Clubhouse. These sessions will be held twice a week for 4= weeks.
Ed said that Saddlebag Resort will be involved in NAT (Neighborhood Action Team). Being associated with NAT could open the possibility of our being a distribution center for ice and food in emergencies. Also, Special Needs Shelters: In the event of an emergency, transportation will be furnished to anyone who needs these shelters. Registration forms are available from the office.

The summer MI Gathering continues to be planned for the second week/week-end in August. E-mail with Itinerary and questionnaire will be sent out, hopefully, this weekend (June 24th).
