Velma Brosius, a former Queen of Waters resident, died Sunday, July 16th. She was 92 years old.
Hugh Collins died Tuesday, July 18th.
Grace Herrmann, Elinor Roeschen's sister, passed away Saturday, July 22nd. Cards may be sent to Elinor at the local address in the directory.
Dannie Adkins passed away Saturday, July 22nd. Cards may be sent to Betty at the northern address in the directory.
Madeline Conway is doing well following heart cath last week. Bill is also doing well at the Dove Nursing Home. Visits are welcome as are cards that may be sent to the local address in the directory or to the Dove Nursing Home, room 212.
Berta Stebbins had a knee replacement this past week. She is now at Life Care Center, 1510 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven, FL 33884. She is having physical therapy and will be evaluated after a week to see if she is able to go home. Cards may be sent to Center or to the local address in the directory.
John and Lois Bernasconi are both doing well. John has an MRI the end of June. It was determined that he can have physical therapy, but not on his neck because of the thinning of the disks. He is on heart medication and beta blockers which are working well. John and Lois wish to thank Saddlebag for the many cards they have received.
Bob Howell had a bad reaction from his last chemo treatment. He is recovering now. Bob will have one more chemo treatment and then a CAT scan to determine if the chemo is working. The next course of action will be determined at that time. Cards may be sent to them at 1235 Cedarwood Dr., Brighton, MI 48116-6785.
Jeff Katenkamp has a recurrence of the cancer. It is causing kidney problems. Jeff is starting a new medication that will hopefully keep the myeloma under control. The family wants to thank all for the positive thoughts and prayers they have received. Beth (his wife) asks for the continuation of the prayers for Jeff's recovery.
Don Self is scheduled for his 4th back surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 9th. The surgery is the most intensive and serious of any of the other surgeries. The doctors will insert titanium rods on both sides of his spine and screw them into place. Don will be in a brace for at least seven months. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Roland Morgan is also scheduled for his 4th back surgery on August 8th in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He will have the 4th and 5th vertebrae fused and a metal rod inserted, possibly titanium. Roland will also have vertebrae further up on his spine taken care of at that time. Cards may be sent to Roland at the northern address in the directory.
David Dartt is still in Lake Wales Hospital following surgery for a ruptured intestine. He will recuperate at his dad's home on Hwy. 60. There will be no golf cart business until further notice. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Fran Smith wants to thank everyone for the many cards she received during her stay in the hospital and subsequent return home.

1.The office wants to have a phone# on file in case of emergency. They will have a form that one can fill out. Everyone is encouraged to do so.
2.Propane station will be open tomorrow at 9AM. Not sure of the cost yet.
3.We have the SBA loan, we are waiting on (1) signature.
4.A new generator and 2 new blowers are being installed at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
5.Mosquito control: Polk county has to be called.
6.When getting work done, make sure your contractor has a license to do the work. It saves a lot of grief in the long run.
Ed Weirauch stated that on August 3rd at 9:30AM, there will be a general mtg in the clubhouse, to bring everyone up to date, with what is happening with our Emergency Preparation.

The summer MI Gathering continues to be planned for the second week/week-end in August. E-mail with Itinerary and questionnaire will be sent out, hopefully, this weekend (June 24th). Our plans currently include activities, tours of local area attractions, golf, games, food & fun. Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing many of you in August. The library is now open on Monday & Thursdays from 10-12 PM.
