Hildred Heaton, Betty Myles, Paul Heaton and Bob Heaton's sister, passed away yesterday, August 5th at the Good Shepard Hospital in Auburndale. Cards may be sent to Betty and Paul at their local addresses in the directory and to Bob at the northern address in the directory.
Mickey Sauer is in the Groves Nursing Home where she is recuperating from a cracked pelvis. She will receive physical therapy at the appropriate time. Cards may be sent to her at the local address in the directory.
Doris Wierenga is home from the hospital and doing OK.
Hazel Miller is here today. It's good to see her out and about again.
Joan Holloway saw her cardiologist and was cleared for surgery on August 17th at Lakeland Regional Medical Ctr. Her mom is with her now and her daughter will also be with her when she has the surgery.
Jan Nowak tripped and fell at a Water Meet for her granddaughter and broke the radial bone in her arm just above the wrist. She had surgery last week and a pin was inserted. Jan's in a splint now and when she goes back to the doctor he will most likely put a cast on the arm. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Joyce Zampieri is having abdominal surgery today at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital. Any cards and well wishes can be sent to the Vermont address. Joyce will also begin therapy soon for a torn rotator cuff on her left shoulder.
We received a lovely thank you note from Jack Nolan for the many cards and prayers received following his recent surgery.

The water level this morning is 100' 63/4" which is 2 1/4" , more than last week. We did get some badly needed rain last week. Everyone keep in mind that our water level should be about 102' above sea level, so it is imperative we keep getting some rain.
August 8th at 6PM. A salad smorgasbord will beheld. This event is hosted by Art & Barbara Marksbury. Please bring your own dishes and invite your neighbors. This is a SLR Church function. A free will offering will be taken.
Campbell Soup labels are still being collected by Lorraine Kobierecki. She is at 5 Beaverkill.
The Summer Michigan Reunion is being hosted by Ed &Helen Clark. It will be in Frankenmuth, MI on August 1stthrough the 4th. Those wishing to camp out, there is a campground on the Lutheran Church grounds. The Lutheran Church campground is at the end of Shlier Street. From Main Street (M83) West on Shlier to the end. Shlier has Mike Young GM Dealership on the South Corner & a Farm Equipment Dealer on the North Corner. Any group, club, committee in SLR with a Sun Trust checking account can get the new $5.00 per month fee waived if the responsible member in charge of the account goes to Sun Trust and talks to Stacy. She will OK and confirm; there will be no charge for SLR group accounts.
Stop signs have been installed at the 2 intersections of Silversides and the Trail. Be aware that they are there and act accordingly.
Doris DeJong, 696-1701 is requesting donations from anyone interested. Mary Kay Cosmetics will send sunscreen products to our troops in Iraq. Donations are tax deductible.
