Violet Morse, Former Saddlebag Trail resident, passed away last week at age 92.
Illness and recoveries:
Sam Sturms had his last chemo treatment last week. In one month he will have a biopsy to see the results of his chemo.Cards may be sent to Sam at the northern address in the directory.
Diane Green is feeling better every day following knee replacement surgery.She said she doesn't like the therapy, but knows it's what she has to do. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Mickey Sauer is still in the Groves Nursing Home where she is recuperating from a cracked pelvis.Cards may be sent to her at the local address in the directory.
Doris Wierenga continues to improve at home.
Joan Holloway should have surgery for kidney removal this Friday, August 17th at Lakeland Regional Medical Ctr. Her mom and daughter will be with her when she has her surgery.
Former resident, Mary Kay Scott, Sandy Stinespring's mother,is terminally ill with bone cancer.Mary Kay will be 88 years old in September and has opted not to have chemo. Cards may be sent to her at: Mrs. Dean Scott, 1001 Carpenter Way, Apt.D106, Lakeland, FL 33809-3968.

The water level this morning is 100' 5 1/2 " which is 2 1/4" less than last week. Very little rain last week. Everyone keep in mind that our water level should be about 102' above sea level, so it is imperative we keep getting some rain.
Campbell Soup labels are still being collected by Lorraine Kobierecki. She is at 5 Beaverkill.

Any group, club, committee in SLR with a Sun Trust checking account can get the new $5.00 per month fee waived if the responsible member in charge of the account goes to Sun Trust and talks to Stacy.She will OK and confirm; there will be no charge for SLR group accounts.
Stop signs have been installed at the 2 intersections of Silversides and the Trail. Be aware that they are there and act accordingly.
Doris DeJong, 696-1701 is requesting donations from anyone interested. Mary Kay Cosmetics will send sunscreen products to our troops in Iraq. Donations are tax deductible.

Labor Day -- September 3 -- 5PM. The Summer Committee is having a Bratwurst with sauerkraut dinner. Cost is $1.00. We are doing this to show our appreciation of the people who attended our previous dinners. This event is Hosted by Dave and Pam Wiechart. This dinner is limited to the first150 people with a cutoff date to purchase tickets of August 27th .See you there.
Ed Weirauch reminded everyone this morning that it is not a good idea to swim in the lake. There are a number of creatures in the lake that are detrimental to ones health and well being.
The Clubhouse is Closed for one(1) week in order to resurface, clean and wax the floor. It should be open next Monday for Koffee Klatch.
