Patricia (Pat) Dunne passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at age 84. She had heart surgery August 3rd that lasted over 8 hours. She had a double bypass and two valves replaced. It was just too much and she died a week later. Cards may be sent to the family at 34 Farnham St., Cazenovia, NY 13035-1114.
Karen Canankamp had a stroke following a procedure she had done. She is still taking chemo treatments for the lung cancer. Prayers are needed for Karen and Dave. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Bob Lapsley had aortic valve replacement surgery on Thursday, August 13^th . He is doing extremely well. He was ahead of schedule recovery and was up walking the day after surgery. He was to come home today, but his heart sped up to the point where it registered at the nurses' station. So they put him back on IV drip to regulate the heart beat. He will be on medication for the rest of his life to maintain his heart rhythm. Hopefully, he will come home in a day or two. Bob thanks all for the many cards he has received.
Owen Stein of Red Quill will have complicated back surgery this week.
Mickey Sauer had gall bladder surgery Sunday morning. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
We received a thank you note from Skip Feldbauer and the family for the many cards received following the death of Marty Feldbauer.
Velma Peugh would like to express her sincere thanks for all the acts of kindness, no matter how small, for the cards and prayers in the passing of her mother. When sorrow hits home, it is a lot easier to handle when you live in a caring community called Saddlebag Lake Resort.
Please remember our Saddlebag friends with prayers, cards and phone calls.

Library: The library is open on Mondays right after Koffee Klatch.
Tab Tops: Dale Calhoun wants to remind everyone to save your tabs from your beer or soda cans as these can then be turned into the Ronald McDonald House charity. If you save them, bring them south with you.
Entrance Gate: The Office is asking everyone that has a Bar Code attached to your vehicle, to call the office. (863-696-2407) Give them your stump number and the number of the bar code. New computer software has been installed and all of the numbers have to be put back into the system. You can do it now or wait until you get back, but you will not like doing it when you get back because you will have to go into the office before you will be let in. Please be patient, as I expect the office phone to be busy a lot of the time due to this notice. This is also on the website(www.saddlebaglakeresort.net), under current issues.
Pictorial Directory: The directories are now available for pickup at the Woodruff Residence, 4 Queen of Waters or call 696-1053. This was well done. It has a hard cover. $10.00 per copy.
High Speed Internet Access: We are still waiting on AT and T to install a 3G transmitter on the phone tower out front. Other than that, LWW is still operating here. You also have the option of Satellite service. (Hughes, Wild Blue and Dish Network or DirecTV which also offer high speed internet access.) At the present time, there aren't any prospects of getting DSL service here.
The ladies are playing dominoes on Wednesdays at 1PM in the annex. Everyone is welcome.
Pool: The latest word, the pool is closed until such time as repairs are completed. We are looking at 3 or 4 weeks. The local YMCA has given Saddlebaggers a special deal to use their facilities with pool. For $30 per family or $20 per single you will be issued a special Saddlebagger card with an expiration date of 9/30. This is an outdoor very nice pool. The YMCA is located just down the street from Bok Tower.
Birthday Party: Rob Kightley is having a 90th birthday party for his mother(Evelyn) this coming September. The invitation is also posted on the Announcements page on the left hand side of the home page(www.saddlebaglakeresort.net).
This newsletter is intended to inform everyone with an email address about what is happening here in SLR during the summer.
