SADDLEBAG SUNSHINE REPORT
September 11, 2006
Sickness and/or Distress:
Linda Kiel tripped and injured her foot. Xrays showed several broken bones in her foot. She had surgery and a bone was taken from her heel and fused to her toes. Linda is in a great deal of pain, but does try to walk a bit. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Joyce Muller had a hip replacement in June. She is with her daughter. Cards may be sent to in care of Lindsey, 101 Cahaba Dr., Enterprise, AL 36630.
Sue and Dick Beagle's grandson Andrew is doing much better following a severe reaction from what is termed a “super bug". A bite goes directly to the bone. As a result of mega doses of five antibiotics his immune system is not functioning properly and Andrew is now fighting a digestive problem. Prayers are still requested for this little two year old.
Jeannine Johnson is now in a nursing home in Maine. She is still receiving chemo for pancreatic cancer. Cards may be sent to the northern address in the directory.
Carl Shimp, Mary Lou and Dick's son, will have surgery today (September 11th). He suffers from sympathetic nerve syndrome. The surgery entails entry to his spine through the stomach. The doctors will remove from one half to two inches of the affected nerve. This is very delicate and serious surgery. Cards may be sent to Carl at 455 Mountain Pass Rd., Blueridge, VA 24064.
Jeanette Montross, after 15 weeks af chemo, had a CT scan on August 30th and saw her surgeon on September 6th. They received the very best results they could expect. The tumor on the bladder had shrunk considerably and there doesn't appear to be kidney involvement. Her doctor is trying for operating room time within the next three weeks to remove the bladder. Jeanette will see her doctor five weeks after the surgery. He will conder another 15 weeks of chem. And a CT scan every six months for the next two years. Cards may be sent to Jeanette and Daniel at the Canadian address in the directory. Remember, postage to Canada is 63 cents.
We received a beautiful thank you note from Joe Sefcik following the death of his wife Yvonne. He appreciates all of you thoughtfulness and praises God for being most gracious in his sorrows. He has the gift of beautiful memories of his life with Yvonne. Joe hopes to come back to Saddlebag in late fall.
Please remember our Saddlebag friends with prayers, cards and phone calls.
