John Hartt passed away December 23rd after a long bout with cancer. Cards may be sent to Evelyn at the Canadian address in the directory.
Harold Gunzenheiser of #8 Red Quill passed away on December 25th following quadruple bypass surgery. Cards may be sent to the family at the northern address in the directory.
Phil Hancox's father passed away in England December 25th. Cards may be sent to Phil at the post office address in the directory.
Sickness & Distress:
Bob Howell has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Their son is coming down to take them back to Michigan on Thursday. Bob will undergo treatment there. Bud Miller is out of ICU at Lake Wales Hospital following gall bladder surgery. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Amy Gill was in Winterhaven Hosital with heart problems. She is home now. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Laura Callender fell and broke her hip. Following surgery last week she in now in rehab at Winterhaven Health Care & Rehab, 202 Ave. O NE, Winterhaven, 33881. Cards may be sent to her there. The phone# at the Rehab Center is 863-293-3103.
Fran Smith is home from the hospital where she was admitted with pulmonary problems. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Barbara Park was admitted to Lake Wales Hospital with pneumonia. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Lorraine Kobierecki was hospitalized for three days with a bacterial infection throughout her body. The infection stemmed from the pacemaker put in a week ago. Lorraine will be on antibiotics for five weeks. She is home, but veryweak. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Dave & Karen Canancamp's grandson is in critical condition with an infection behind his tonsils. Once the infection is cleared up he will have a tonsillectomy.
Dale Johnson fell and broke his leg. He is in a cast from his ankle to his hip. Cards may be sent to the Tennessee address in the directory.
Bessie Mishler is in an Assisted Living facility in Columbus, Ohio. See Greta Dain for details and an address for Bessie.

EMERGENCY: Sewer restrictions are now in place. Please conserve and use the little green houses. Our sewer situation is critical. NO dishwashing, NO clothes washing and use the Porta-Potties, or as we refer to them, the Green Houses. Our President, Mary Jane Gieche, reinforced the sewer restrictions this morning for those new arrivals who have not heard them.
Immediately after Koffee Klatch, Bob Lapsley is giving us an update on the water situation. More information may be found on the Website under Monday/Thursday Update.

Marlene Kopp says the Garden Club has photographic note cards available at a cost of $0.80 cents per card, which includes the envelope. Any money received will be used to defer some of the costs of restoring SLR areas to what they were before our flooding situation occurred.
If you are in residence, you need to call the office and make an appointment to get your Bar Codes installed for entrance to SLR.
New SLR Directories are now available from Greta Dain. Cost is $1.00 per copy.

Janet Robinson, 696-7808, said that she would like to get the oil painting class going. Give her a call for times and dates.
On January 14th, the Dance Committee will be having their first dance of 2006.
On January 21st, the Mens' Club will be having a Barbeque. Call 696-2962 for more information. Tickets are $7.00 and available from Darrell Bierlein.

The Post Office is now manned by a postal employee from Lake Wales, so, all services should be available.
On January 2nd at Koffee Klatch, Virginia Toering and Nancy Tenelshof will give us a performance, to start the New Year on a positive note.
January 10th the EDT(Emergency Disaster Team) is putting together a bus or carpool to go to the Planning Commission meeting in Bartow. This is being done, so we can show our support for the Berry Corporation for their proposed development on the North side of SLR property. Contact Bob Lapsley 696-1111 for more information.
