SADDLEBAG SUNSHINE REPORT
October 27, 2014
Polly Verrier lost her sister Marge last week. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Phyllis Calkins had tests done at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville this past week. Tests showed that the cancer in the liver is too big for radiation at this time. They met with doctors who will treat her and explained everything to her and Les and gave them a lot of literature to read. Phyllis will have chemotherapy and when the spots are small enough she will have radiation at Shands with the newest radiation techniques. She will have the chemo treatments with an oncologist in Winter Haven who goes up to the University of Florida frequently. Cards may still be sent to the local address
Joyce Angrist is still in Lake Wales Medical Center, room 331. Her cancer is in the lungs, spinal column and her leg. She will be going to a Hospice facility as soon as arrangements can be made.
I will post the address at a later date so cards may be sent to Joyce.
Bud Wirth is waiting for an appointment with a cardiologist. He feels fine, but the family doctor detected something wrong with his heart rhythm. Bud and Faye hope to come back to Saddlebag after Christmas. Cards may be sent to him at the Canadian address in the directory. Postage is $1.15.
Ginger Austin came home late Thursday following a four day stay at Lake Wales Medical Center. Heart problems were ruled out but she was diagnosed with a severe Lupus flare up. She is resting quietly at home. The Halloween party is still on for this Friday and Ginger hopes everyone will join them from 4 -- 8 pm for an evening of fun.
Ray Fox thanks all the Saddlebaggers for kind words of sympathy and for all the cards he received following the passing of Sharon. He also thanks all for the Get Well cards she received.
Berta Stebbins thanks the many folks for all the cards, visits, calls and goodies while she was at Grace Healthcare. In Berta's words, “Saddlebag is the best!"
Evelyn Elkins wishes to thank all who sent cards, food, gifts and thoughts and prayers on the passing of her husband Bobby. It was appreciated very much.
Other:I will not be here next week. You can let Bob Trombley know of any sickness or distress.
Please remember our Saddlebag friends with cards, prayers and phone calls.
