Death: None reported to me.
Illness: Billy Jones was taken to Lake Wales Medical Center where she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. The doctor told Billie's son that she can no longer live alone. She will live with her son who has wanted her to do so for quite some time. We will miss Billie. As soon as I get an address for her I will pass it on so phone cards, cards and/or notes can be sent to her.
Katherine Goldstein had surgery this week. She is up and around and feeling quite well. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Judi Farrer had an ocular stroke in early November. It was caused by a swelling in the brain. Tests showed a mass in the brain. Judi is going to Moffitt this week where she will find out the course of action that will be taken. Judi said it will probably be radiation. She is also receiving treatment at this time for her eyesight and said there has been a slight improvement. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory.
Phyllis Calkins was admitted to Winter Haven Hospital Friday afternoon with difficulty breathing. Her lungs were drained Sunday and there was immediate improvement in her breathing. Phyllis could possibly come home today, but she said it would most likely be early this week. Cards may be sent to the local address in the directory
Other: We received a lovely Thanksgiving card from Gloria Park along with a newsy letter. She has had “many tests, even geriatric tests". Gloria said the brain scan was/is an issue to watch. The scan showed that she has had four brain strokes which is probably the reason she has fallen so often. Her meds have been changed. She said don't give up on her - God's not ready for her jokes, smiles and quick sense of humor.
Please remember our Saddlebag friends with prayers, cards and phone calls.
